Promo-Arte has been introducing, through continuous exhibitions, numerous artists who are playing part in important activities in the Latin American art scene.

One of our most important collective exhibitions is the “XII Latin American & Caribbean Contemporary Art TODAY” composed by two sessions. Part-I is composed by 47 art works of different techniques from 24 artists and; Part-II is composed by 40 pieces of art works from 20 artists including Japanese guest artists. Through this show you can appreciate not only the gallerys' artists art works, but also from newly emerged artists works for the very first time in Japan.

In PART-II, Promo-Arte presents a thematic exhibition focused on the darkness and mysteries remarked by the Gold from thousand of years in the human history in the Western and Middle Eastern world. This exhibition is titled “Behind the Gold” and is composed by 40 pieces of art works by the Japanese Calligrapher Hiraku Sato, painter Takahiro Watanabe, sculpturer Takashi Yukawa and painter Hiroshi Ikeda. In addition,you can also appreciate the Colombian artist Ana Mercedes Hoyos art works including installation works and bronze sculptures with the theme of “Oro negro (Black Gold) -CA.1502”, which is presenting the complete one man show now at the “Museo de Arte de la SHCP” in Mexico City.

Eduardo Roca(Choco) (Cuba)

He is liked with nickname "Choco" and developped print technique of collagraph in all Cuba. When he visited Angola as a professor of Art, he recognized his roots in Africa. He awarded the 1st prize in Printing contest of Orense and also an honor prize in Print biennale of Latin American and Carribean.
Awarded the great prize in International Printing Triennale of Kochi (Japan)
 

Nelson Domi´nguez (Cuba)

1947 Born in Santiago de Cuba
1970 Graduated from Cubanacan National Art School
1970-85 Professor and head of thePainting Department of the College of Arts (ISA) and faculty member of its Engraving Department.Member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP).
Was presented with the National Cultural award and the Alejo Carpentier award.

   


Ana M. Hoyos (Colombia)

Ana Mercedes Hoyos is one of the most outstanding figures in present day Colombian art. Her work has been the subject of three previous book s, received a wide critical commentary and figured in publications like Art News, Newsweek, Time and Art in America.

Gustavo Ve´lez (Colombia)

Born in Medellin of Colombia. After educated drawing in Art Institute of Medellin, learned sculpture in Italy. His works are characterized by elegant curved lines and they present eternal pleasure to us. We can feel potential power of Colombian Contemporary Art from his works.


   
Edison Osorio Zapata (Venezuela)

Born in Caracas of Venezuela. He spent almost of his childhood in Australia. Graduated from The Australian National University. Having an opportunity to come in touch with Japanese art and culture, he came to complete Master's degree course of Tama Art University. His field is very wide from photo-media to glass works and he exhibit his works in both solo and group exhibitions in Australia and Japan. Now resides in USA.

Manuel Velazquez (Mexico)

Manuel Velazquez was born in Chiapas, Mexico, and later on vent to college in Xalapa, Veracruz, where he now lives and works. The rich and pre-Columbian history of these two Mexican states come alive through his artwork. These territories still draw respect and admiration in the present times. Since his childhood he would be exposed to amber-the natural resin in trees, and some of the pips actually recall light amber, or the more yellow/brown material, and some even seem to reveal fossils.

Fernando Tovar (Colombia)

Fernando Tovar is a Latin-american artist and architect who works and lives in Miami. Studied at Universidad de los Andes and Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, where he received a degree in architecture. He was Invited Professor of Architectural Design at Universidad Javeriana. Later on, studied art for four years at the School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston. During that time, won a second award at the V Domecq Ibero-American Biennial in Mexico, he was selected to participate in the in the Pan American Graphic Art Portafolio and has participated as a juror in several art exhibitions.

Hiraku Sato(calligrapher)

He is pursueing a root of life force for art activities after being shocked by "Stubbornness" of Yuichi Inoue. He creates the best one in his life thinking it is the last work he wrote before his death.

Takahiro Watanabe(painter)

Graduated from Musashino Art University. His major was Traditional Japanese Painting.
Mastered Traditional Japanese Painting in Cllege of Art of Musashino Art University.
He transferred his bas to Roma of Italy and continues his activities. He has held solo and group exhibitions in Tokyo, Nagoya, Hiroshima etc...
2006 He exhibited his works in a corridor of the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi.
