As the first exposition in 2014, Promo-Arte presents “BORDERLESS OF CUBAN ART” exhibition, in which you can appreciated a variety of techniques of contemporary artworks from four (4) Cuban artists, that they have been focused in the world currently beyond the bord.

Abel Barroso creates wooden cubic works motivated from cellular phones, laptop PC and tablets using analog technique as original wooden block. His theme is a contrast with his country’s environment where it is not permitted to access the internet freely.

Sandra Ramos creates prints, cubic, image works with motif of Greek myths. She expresses utopia spirits and disappointment wishing liberation from socialism.

Yendris Patterson lives in Spain and creates paintings with theme of “border violation” over Cuba.

Finally, Julio Cesar Pena who is printed in the poster for this exposition creates powerful large-sized prints in which the people are all described skeleton. “Border violations” inside the human is expressed there.

Sandra Ramos


Sandra Ramos was teacher at the ISA -Higher Institute of Art of Havana from 1993 to 1998. She has being Curator of the 7 editions of La Huella Multiple event and other Cuban Contemporary Art exhibitions.
